Global Connections π¨βοΈ AIR CRASH INVESTIGATIONS #177 π©βοΈ 54 years ago, a quiet field near the English town of Staines became the scene of Britain’s worst aviation disaster. On June 18, 1972, British European Airways Flight 548 departed London Heathrow for what should have been a routine flight to Brussels. But less than two minutes after becoming airborne, the Hawker Siddeley Trident entered an aerodynamic stall and plunged from the sky. The aircraft narrowly missed high-voltage power lines and a busy motorway before crashing into a field near Staines. All 118 people on board lost their lives. π¬π§ π§πͺ | FLYGCAVIATIONNETWORKUK.ORG π¬π§
